Our Camp at Christian Youth Camp was a day to remember, bursting with energy and discovery. From the moment we stepped off the bus, the excitement was contagious. Surrounded by nature and guided by enthusiastic camp leaders, our students embraced every moment with open hearts and curious minds.
The day was filled with fun and meaningful activities that inspired teamwork and resilience. Whether it was tackling obstacle courses, exploring the bush on nature walks, or solving group challenges, every student had a chance to shine and support their classmates.
Here are some of the highlights shared by our Year 3 students:
“I loved all the activities, but my favourite was Putt Putt. I was the first person from my group to get it in the hole!” – Lyla, Year 3
“The lava walk game and the other activities were so fun because everybody could play.” – Year 3
“The lava game was great because our team was helping me and Heath.” – Milahni, Year 3
“The treasure hunt and all the other activities were awesome. I liked the blindfold challenge where we had to guide each other around landmines. It helped us learn more about each other and how to persevere.” – Joanna, Year 3
“The lava game was my favourite because there was teamwork, and I love helping other people.” – Ellie, Year 3
We are incredibly proud of our Year 3 students for their enthusiasm and courage. The Day Camp was more than just a day of fun; it was a celebration of growth and experiencing new things. We can’t wait for the next adventure.
Our students recently returned from an unforgettable camp where courage and perseverance were at the heart of every adventure. From tackling a steep, muddy walk and working together through team challenges to soaring on the flying fox and kayaking across the lake, students embraced each experience with determination and enthusiasm. Caring for goats at the camp farm added a fun and memorable hands-on element, reminding everyone of the importance of responsibility and kindness. Through daily devotions, students reflected on how God gives us strength to be brave and persevere, even when things feel difficult. It was a camp full of adventure, growth, and moments that reminded us all what it truly means to be courageous and resilient.
"It was my first camp ever; I was scared but I had fun" - Aria B.
"It was fun, I really loved kayaking" - Caleb G.
"t was good, I enjoyed the activities" - Jack R.
"It was really fun and I loved how we got to make new friends in our cabins and the food was really nice." -Willow W.
Our Year 4 students had an unforgettable adventure at Jacobs Well Environmental Education Centre, where learning came alive among the mangroves!
We began our day with an interpretive walk through the mangrove forest, where we discovered the fascinating plants and creatures that make this unique ecosystem thrive. Students learned how to identify different mangrove species, explored their life cycles, and discussed the vital role mangroves play in protecting our environment. We also gained a deeper appreciation of Indigenous perspectives, learning how First Nations people have long valued and cared for these incredible coastal habitats.
The real excitement began when we bravely stepped into the muddy mangroves up to our knees! Surrounded by the squelchy mud and scuttling crabs, we observed tiny red nipper crabs feeding and burrowing, and even got to catch and release some curious soldier crabs. Laughter filled the air as we dug, discovered, and explored God’s beautiful creation together.
To finish off an already amazing day, we explored benthic organisms, the fascinating creatures that live beneath the surface of the mangrove mud. Using yabby pumps and sieves, students uncovered and identified a variety of hidden organisms, getting hands-on experience as real-life environmental scientists!
It was a day full of learning, laughter, teamwork, and appreciation for God’s wonderful world. The Year 4 students left Jacobs Well with muddy shoes, big smiles, and a brand-new respect for the delicate balance of life that thrives in the mangroves.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate Emily W., who has been selected as one of the recipients of the Michael Crandon MP Bursary for 2025, valued at $750. This prestigious bursary recognises students who demonstrate outstanding dedication, effort, and commitment to their education.
Emily’s hard work and perseverance stood out among a highly competitive field of applicants across the Northern Gold Coast region. The bursary will support her continued studies in 2026.
Although Emily will be sitting her Biology exam during the official presentation ceremony, her achievement is a true reflection of her excellence, humility, and determination, qualities we see in her every day at King’s.
On behalf of the College community, we congratulate Emily on this wonderful accomplishment and wish her every success as she continues her educational journey beyond high school.
Term 4 kicked off with a vibrant celebration of the arts at our Performing Arts Showcase. The evening was a celebration of talent, creativity, and collaboration, featuring high-calibre performances across Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, and the Primary Choir. Families, staff, and students came together to enjoy an inspiring program that highlighted the dedication and passion of our performers and their teachers. It was a wonderful way to begin the term, setting a positive and energetic tone for the final weeks ahead. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making the night such a success!
What a year it’s been for our CBSQ Sophomore girls!
The team began the season competing in the Shield Tournament before receiving a last-minute call-up as a replacement team to fill a spot in Division 3 for CBSQ. Last year, our group played in the same division but didn’t manage to secure a win, resulting in relegation. This year, given another chance — and just one week’s notice to prepare — they made the most of every opportunity and exceeded all expectations.
Against the odds, the girls fought their way into the top four out of 14 teams, earning a place in the bronze medal game with a chance to move up divisions. The fairytale finish wasn’t to be this time, falling to Immanuel Lutheran College, but their effort and growth were something to be incredibly proud of.
Miah R. was a key contributor for this team, playing big minutes, leading the effort and averaging 13 points per game. Lucy D. contributed strongly with 8 points per game, while Desi A. showed outstanding competitive spirit, stepping up defensively and making crucial plays when it mattered most.
This group has shown heart, resilience, and unity — proving that with belief and hard work, anything is possible. There’s no doubt they’ll return next year even stronger and with a point to prove.
Congratulations to our CBSQ Sophomore Girls on an outstanding season!
After winning Division 3 last year, the team was promoted to Division 2 — a big step up in competition. We knew this tournament would be a challenge, but from the opening tip, the boys made their mark. They dominated the pool stages, topping their group after winning every game by an average margin of 40 points.
That success set up a quarter-final clash against local rivals CAC, where King’s came away with a strong 58–41 victory to book a place in the semi-final.
The semi-final was a rematch of last year’s Division 3 grand final against Bremmer SHS — a powerhouse program and eventual Division 2 champions. In a tough, physical contest, King’s led for much of the game before foul trouble to bigs Emmitt M., Stephen O., and Josh S. proved costly. Despite a courageous effort, the boys fell just short 52–44, sending them to the bronze medal match.
The bronze medal game against Coolum SHS was another battle. King’s led 13–8 after the first quarter before Coolum gained momentum in the second. By the end of the third, the game was tied 36–36, setting up a tense final term. Unfortunately, a Coolum guard caught fire, hitting three straight three-pointers to swing the game. With Josh S. and Emmitt M. both sidelined by injuries, King’s fought hard but ultimately fell 59–50.
Despite the disappointment, this group achieved something special — finishing top four out of 16 teams in a strong Division 2 field. King’s definitely showed they are not far off from being a Division 1 team.
The boys left everything on the court — playing through injuries, fatigue, and adversity. Fractured bones and bruised bodies tell the story of a team that gave it their all.
Congratulations to our CBSQ Sophomore Boys, a resilient, hard-working group who continue to set new standards for King’s Basketball.

Year 12, what next?
If your young adult is still undecided about what to do next year, please help them to continue moving forward. Often, with the freedom of not having to attend school and few restrictions put on them, they can become rudderless! What can you do to assist your child:
1. Help them get a job as a trainee to develop employability skills.
2. Get them into a trade apprenticeship. Evidence has shown that with AI impacting many roles, tradespeople are becoming the 'new millionaires'. There are many positions on offer.
3. Get them studying a course with the Government-funded program called Career Start. This allows students who have left school to undertake a Certificate 3 course and reduced/no cost. Many RTOs offer this option. Look at TAFE, Aurora and Barrington College, to name a few.

Stunning is the only word that truly captures the magic of this year’s King’s Ball themed “The Greatest Show for the Greatest Cause.” Held on Saturday, 25 October, the elegant Imperial Hotel ballroom transformed into a dazzling spectacle, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening of glamour, entertainment, and generosity.
Now in its sixth year, the Ball united King’s parents and staff with the mission to “friend-raise” building a strong, supportive foundation within our school community. Alongside the celebration, guests helped raise vital funds for our High School Mission Trips through a Silent Auction and lucky draw ticket sales.
Thanks to everyone who contributed, and congratulations to our lucky winners! Your support made this night not only memorable but truly meaningful.
Thanks to our 2025 P&F Ball Sponsors & Coordinators
We’d like to extend our deepest gratitude to our major sponsors — Rigs Recovery, Accor Stadium, and Hopesway for their generous support of this year’s King’s Ball. A huge thank you also goes out to the many businesses and families who contributed to the event, including Soak Bathhouse, Imperial Hotel, Parkwood Golf Club, Officeworks, and Event Cinemas.
To our incredible parents and staff who attended: thank you for bringing such joy to the evening, for helping us fundraise, and for making the night a resounding success.
And finally, our biggest thanks go to King’s P&F President Roula Webster and Event Coordinator Toni Colbron, whose dedication, time, and energy made “The Greatest Show for the Greatest Cause” not only possible — but truly spectacular.
