Noah’s Ark Christmas Concert: A Night of Fun and Faith!
7 November 2024
What a night! Our Noah’s Ark Christmas Concert was a huge success, with nearly every family coming along to enjoy the show and cheer on the kids. The atmosphere was buzzing as families gathered for a BBQ, sharing laughs and getting into the festive spirit before the main event.
With a packed house, we kicked off the evening with an energetic cheer performance from our Pre Prep team. Each class then took the stage, bringing big smiles and even bigger voices! From catchy tunes to heartfelt messages, the kids reminded us all of what Christmas is really about: Jesus’ love, joy, and hope.
Whether it was the “Wombat Wobble,” “Fruit of the Spirit,” or the upbeat “Hosanna Rock,” the children sang their hearts out! And their final song, “Star of the Morning,” was the perfect way to wrap up the night—everyone was clapping and smiling along.
A big thank-you to all our families for joining us, and a shout-out to our team for pulling everything together—decorations, sound, lights, and all! We’re also grateful to Mr. Rees Davis, Mr. Rob Verreynne, and Mrs. Tracey Verreynne for celebrating with us.
We loved sharing this joyful night with you, and we can’t wait to keep the fun going into the new year. Merry Christmas from all of us at Noah’s Ark!
On Friday 18th October, our Year 3 students enjoyed our Year 3 camp. The fun-filled evening started with setting up tents on the top field. We then started our night with Chapel and a shared dinner together. Wearing their house colours, students then joined their house groups for a variety of games and activities. We then pulled out our chairs, picnic blankets and snacks and enjoyed a movie under the stars. The camp was a great community event and gave the opportunity for friendships to grow. It marked the start of many offsite school camps to come and it was special that the parents could join in on this experience. Thank you to the parents for joining in and helping make it a night to remember!

Year 4 Instrumental Music Concert
5 November 2024
The Year 4 Instrumental Music Concert was held in the College auditorium on Thursday, 31 October. The concert was the culminating event for the Year 4 Instrumental Music Immersion Program, where all students learn an instrument over the course of the academic year. It was exciting for our budding musicians to perform in their first concert on their orchestral instruments to a live audience of parents, friends and their Year 3 peers. Many audience members commented on how impressed they were with the students' skills, and how well they performed in their cohesive ensembles. Our young musicians thoroughly enjoyed the experience and their enthusiasm for playing a musical instrument was evident. Thank you to so many Year 4 parents and friends for attending and to our Primary Music teachers for helping our new musicians on their learning journey. We are looking forward to seeing the Year 4 students continuing this journey in the years to come.
The final Active School Travel breakfast event for 2024 took place on November 5th, celebrating our committed Active School Travellers! Upon arrival, students enjoyed a nutritious start to the day with yogurt, apples, and bananas, while the first 50 parents were treated to a free coffee.
A heartfelt thank you to the parents who have supported this initiative by walking with their children to school whether from home or from the Gainsborough Greens sporting oval or by carpooling, or students who have cycled or skated to school. Your dedication to promoting an active lifestyle is inspiring and greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to our lucky raffle winners, and thank you to everyone who participated in making this event a success. Here’s to continuing our journey toward a healthier, more active school community!
The Senior School Showcase took place on Monday, November 4th, in the auditorium, bringing together the diverse talents of our dedicated students in Years 10 through 12. The evening was a resounding success, enjoyed by parents, friends, and staff alike, who gathered to support and celebrate the creative achievements of our students.
Attendees were treated to an inspiring range of artistic presentations, spanning visual arts, media arts, music, dance, and drama. Each performance and exhibit was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students, who had invested countless hours preparing for this special occasion. Their creativity, passion, and commitment to excellence were evident in every piece presented, leaving the audience in awe.
The Senior School Showcase not only celebrated the talents of our students but also demonstrated the vibrant artistic spirit within our school community. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our young artists—it was a night to remember!
High School Accounting Students Explore the Professional World in Brisbane
29 October 2024
Recently, Mrs Smith and Mrs Van Staden led 24 of our High School accounting students on an insightful day trip to Brisbane. The aim of the excursion was to expose students to the professional services side of the accounting industry, giving them a real-world perspective on their future career paths.
The day began at the offices of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), where students were introduced to the broader landscape of the accounting profession. During the presentation, key topics included:
Common misconceptions about accounting.
The diverse industries accountants work within.
The vital role CA ANZ plays in supporting and advancing the accounting profession.
Following this, we visited the Brisbane office of Ernst & Young (EY), one of the world’s leading multinational accounting and professional services firms. Here, students had the opportunity to engage with a range of professionals who shared their insights on:
What accounting truly entails.
The various career paths available to accounting graduates.
The day-to-day responsibilities of accountants in large firms
Afterwards, we enjoyed a scenic walk through the Brisbane Botanical Gardens on our way to Queensland University of Technology (QUT), where students met with accounting lecturers and current students. This visit provided a glimpse into university life, covering:
How accounting is taught at the university level.
What to expect as a future university student.
The social and academic benefits of studying accounting at university.
The day was a fantastic opportunity for our students to broaden their understanding of the accounting profession and explore potential future pathways. We hope it inspires them as they consider their next steps after high school.
