Growing up all over Australia as a pastor’s kid and her dad as her hero, Prep Teacher Mrs Tania Foster, zig-zagged up and down the east coast and even lived in the red centre of our beautiful country. Married to our new King’s Physical Education Primary teacher, Mr Lindsay Foster, the couple have three children.
Taking a gap year to the UK before studying and working as a nanny in the UK, gave Mrs Foster the opportunity to explore Europe and North Africa where she made many fond memories.
Well-travelled and with an adventurous spirit, Tania has an excellent skill set in the Primary Early Years and work ethic. Her training began in Childcare, where Tania quickly progressed to Director and Educational Leader. After achieving this professional goal, she returned to university to complete her Primary Teaching degree. Over the past few years, Tania has taught Year 1 and 2 and now she joins Prep at King’s Pimpama.
Mrs Foster heard wonderful things about King’s Pimpama and loved the opportunity to be able to continue to teach students about God and not just the curriculum, especially as the Bible is one of her favourite books to read and she loves to share the stories with her students!
“I believe that every child has the right to flourish and grow in my care while teaching here at King’s,” said Mrs Foster - who brings kindness, acceptance - and her love for each of her students to the classroom.
As a cheeky and loud student who required a seat at the front of the class, Mrs Foster has the empathy and understanding to work with a broad range of students in the Early Years.
So, if you would like to know about exploring the pyramids, sailing in Croatia, exploring Christmas markets in Cologne or being a mature aged student, Mrs Foster is your go-to person, but please don’t touch her elbow!
You might be surprised to know that Mr and Mrs Foster both share the same birthday – 24 August - and they are both in Tyndale House. In their spare time, they love to watch their children play sport, socialise with friends and family, travel and enjoy a good coffee!
Friday, February 25 was so exciting for the King’s kids in Prep. We celebrated a fun week of learning about the letters H and C and the sounds that they make with a crazy hair party. It was great to see the students arriving with crazy hairstyles including styles with coloured spray, spikey hair, spiders, various objects stuck into pony tales, some blue octopuses, and very colourful wigs to name a few. I think it was safe to say that the teachers had as much fun as the students decorating their hair into crazy fun styles.
One of the highlights of the day was when we had a surprise visit from Mrs Malcolm, our Head of Primary, and Mr Verreynne, our Campus Principal, who was wearing a very colourful long wig. There were a few giggles and some funny looks as Mr Verreynne joined us for a few photos, and he complimented the students on their behaviour throughout the day.
Having these kinds of celebration days allows the students in Prep to consolidate what they have learned for the week in a fun and engaging way that also helps enhance community and a sense of belonging. We are very thankful to everyone who contributed and to the parents who made the effort to go above and beyond to make our crazy hair day a fun-filled day!
After pursuing an initial career choice in Design, Jenna Beyrouthi’s heart was changed when she worked part-time at a school in Sydney’s inner west. The school had a high population of underprivileged children who crept into Jenna’s heart and the relationships she made led to her changing her career choice to childhood education.
Miss Beyrouthi was a foundational teacher at King’s Pimpama back in 2015 when the campus first opened and worked part-time as a Pre-Prep Teacher. After completing her teaching degree, she always intended to get a job teaching in a primary school.
“However, the Lord opened a different door for me seven years ago, when I was offered a position at Noah’s Ark to teach pre-prep,” she said, after returning to our campus to teach Prep after all these years.
“I grew such a heart for the early learning years and this opportunity gave me a strong foundation for my teaching career that has shaped me to be the educator that I am today,” said Miss Beyrouthi, who is also a good listener, and has many other wonderful traits that her students will appreciate.
When asked why she chose King’s as her place of employment, she stated, “I love sharing my heart for Jesus with the children and find it a tremendous blessing in an environment where the gospel is upheld and proclaimed.”
Her design background has come in handy as an early years teacher, especially in making resources, creating interesting learning spaces while adding a touch of whimsical theatrics in the classroom. She loves to spend time being creative and making her own ‘bits and bobs’ for the students to enjoy.
With a love for all things drama – it was her favourite subject at school – Miss Beyrouthi loves to get hooked on a good Netflix series, go on a spontaneous adventure with friends, or seek out a cosy café. She also has a good story to tell about a foot that walked into a glass panel, but we'll leave her to share that story when the students are older.
The Year 1 students got into the "swim" of things in Week 7 with their Learn to Swim classes, which is an essential part of the Queensland Schools Health and Physical Education curriculum. The Term 1 Swimming Program comprises of five 60-minute lessons that have an emphasis on helping students learn to swim and perform the skills that make up the competitive swimming strokes.
King's Chaplains made the experience even more fun by dressing up to cheer on our junior learners before they boarded the bus to Superfish Benowa. Well done to all of our Year 1 students for gaining confidence to improve their abilities in this very important life skill.
What a spectacular celebration we had at the Year 6 assembly last week! Students were honoured for showing the Christian Characteristic of Integrity. It was a particularly special assembly for me as I was very honoured to receive this award. I know that it is greatly encouraging as a student to work towards developing our Character in the image of Jesus.
Assembly was hosted by the students. This was brilliant, engaging and gave us more ownership within the school. I appreciated the gentle reminder of school expectations so we all understand what we need to do to succeed at school this year. After such challenging beginnings to the school year, it has been so amazing to join together, recognise achievements and even more wonderful to have the assembly run by King’s kids!

Fusion is our academic, spiritual, cultural and sporting extension program that runs on a Thursday (non-competition sport days) throughout Semester 1. Staff have compiled a list of fun and engaging activities for students to participate in that will extend and challenge students. It is a great way to develop new skills, meet students from a range of year levels, and most importantly, have fun!
Some new activities introduced for this semester include: Lego Masters, Around the World, Sketching and Sports Excellence Training. Feedback from students and staff so far has been extremely positive, with staff member Miss Soper commenting, “It’s so great to see the students stepping out of their comfort zones and enjoying themselves!”

To find out more about the Fusion Options for 2022, Click Here:2022 brought a different start to the year which required a combined Primary and High School Swimming Carnival. This year, King’s had a total of nine district qualifiers with a number of these students progressing to regionals and breaking Personal Best records.
The combined carnival was held at Gold Coast Performance Centre in Runaway Bay. It was great to see our students swimming in a long course pool and setting new records for our future age groups to chase. The huge participation from every year level was fantastic to witness. Finney continued their dominance in the pool, taking out both the Primary and High School carnival. Well done to all Houses for giving it your best and displaying sportsmanship and House spirit throughout the day.

Jesus said that 'in this world we will experience troubles and sorrows' and our students, parents and staff are not exempt from these troubles. We live in a world where trouble is common, BUT Jesus promised us that through HIM we can have His SPIRIT in us, PEACE, COURAGE and VICTORY!!
At King’s, Wellbeing and Chaplaincy operate under a multi-dimensional nature that
seeks to target various domains. Wellbeing does not mean the absence of stress or negative emotions. All students will experience vulnerability at different stages of their development and their sense of wellbeing will vary from time to time. Our team exists to help students develop a sense of His PRESENCE, His PEACE, His COURAGE and ultimately VICTORY in their lives as they develop nurturing and sustaining wellbeing skills as part of their lifelong process.
This term our team have developed programs that equip our students with strategies and skills that build resilience and help students realise their potential, strengths and skills in dealing with the stresses of life, to achieve connection and belonging, and by extension, a real sense of God-given purpose.
These programs include the following:
We endeavoured to catch up with every new student welcoming them into our King’s community and were successful even with a constant influx of enrolments every week. In addition, we have held ‘New Student Pizza Parties’ from Years 4 - 10 and a dance party for our younger students in Years 1-3. All students met our Wellbeing Chaplaincy team and were given the opportunity to meet other new students in their year level. Despite the ebbs and flows of this term, it has been a privilege and honour for our team to serve our community and we look forward to another year of growth in 2022.
King’s Pimpama will be hosting our own Easter showcase this year with an exciting new annual event that will light up our school stage and showcase the new areas that have been under construction. Our inaugural 'King's Easter Fest' will take place on Wednesday, 30 March 2022 and promises to be an evening of celebration. Before the main event, Beyond will be taking place for all our students straight after school and will include Easter-related, fun activities to entertain the whole family.
We will enjoy sensational performances from our talented students, exhibit artwork from our budding Picassos, watch the finalists from our students' Film Festival entries, and come together as a College community to share the Easter message of hope in Jesus. Food trucks will also be available providing dinner options for families or bring your own picnic to enjoy. See you there!
To book your tickets to Easter Fest, Click Here:WE ARE BACK! After a long break, we are so excited to be back on campus with the students this week. King's Dance Academy offers fun and quality classes in Jazz, Ballet, Hip-hop, Lyrical ACRO and Drama, from pre-prep through to Year 12. There is a class for everyone, whether you do one class a week and just want to have fun with your friends, or if you have a true passion for dance and want to do every class available.
We are also ready for another great competition year with the 2022 KDA performance teams, who compete at some of the most iconic venues in Queensland. Auditions for Performance teams will take place after 7 March 2022.
