Primary school students have been learning about sustainability and gardening as they care for the school's vegetable garden. Under the guidance of their teacher, Mr Grahame Anderson, students have been looking after the garden by weeding and watering the garden beds. This hands-on experience has allowed the students to learn about plant life cycles, the importance of composting and the benefits of growing fresh produce.
Students have propagated tomatoes and lettuce from seed and learned about the different stages of plant growth. They have also been composting their green waste, which has not only helped fertilise the soil but has also taught the students about reducing waste and the importance of recycling.
The students have also been caring for a worm farm, which has been an exciting addition to their gardening activities. The worm farm has allowed the students to learn about the important role of worms in the ecosystem and the benefits of using worm castings as fertiliser.
The gardening project has been a great success and primary students have thoroughly enjoyed their daily gardening activities during their first break. Students have developed essential life skills such as responsibility and teamwork and made new friendships through their shared love of gardening.
Students Prepare Artwork for Easter Fest
17 March 2023
Students have been busy preparing their artwork to be displayed at Easter Fest for family and friends to see. From colourful portraits to intricate sculptures and crafts, the artwork on display will showcase the unique talents of our students. Under the guidance of their art teacher, Mrs Leanne Doyle, students have been working hard to bring their visions to life, drawing inspiration from our 2023 Easter Fest theme of Ransom and Rescue.
Easter Fest promises to be a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together and celebrate the significance of this special season. We look forward to seeing the amazing artwork that our students have created and to sharing in the joy and wonder of Easter with one another.

Year 7 & 11 Girls Afternoon
3 March 2023
Year 7 and Year 11 girls gathered together on Friday, 3 March, for a fun-filled afternoon of laser skirmish, volleyball games and loom bracelet making.
Laser skirmish was undoubtedly one of the most exciting activities of the afternoon. Armed with their laser guns, the girls experienced the adrenaline rush of playing laser skirmish and trying to outsmart their opponents. It wasn't just the students who were having a blast — the teachers were just as enthusiastic and enjoying the game as much as the students.
Our students demonstrated good sportsmanship at the volleyball games as they encouraged each other throughout the afternoon. The girls also had the opportunity to participate in a more relaxed and creative activity, making loom bracelets. The afternoon concluded with the girls enjoying some delicious pizza.
The afternoon's activities aimed to foster positive relationships between the Year 7 and Year 11 girls, helping students to form meaningful connections with each other. The activities encouraged students to work together as a team, develop leadership skills and build stronger relationships. Overall, the Year 7 and Year 11 girls afternoon was an enjoyable experience for everyone involved and helped to cultivate a stronger sense of community within our school.
International Day of Mathematics and Pi Day
14 March 2023
International Day of Mathematics and Pi Day is celebrated annually on March 14, representing the first three digits of the mathematical constant pi (π). Our high school mathematics students and staff celebrated the power of numbers and the importance of mathematics in our world and indulged in some delicious meat pies.
We love seeing our students explore the wonders of mathematics and the many ways it impacts our daily lives. From finance and technology to engineering and medicine, maths plays a vital role in our world, and we're thrilled to champion its study at our school.
International Day of Mathematics was a great opportunity for students to celebrate the incredible achievements of mathematicians who have shaped our world. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of math education as students explore this fascinating field of study.
Year 7 Camp at Burleigh
6 March 2023

Year 7 had a great time away in week 4 — with plenty of activities and challenges for them to overcome! Students were able to rock climb, canoe, hike and compete in an amazing race! Unfortunately, the surf conditions and a storm on the second day restricted the activities, but spirits were high and students took on the challenge of the other activities planned.
The theme of the Year 7 camp this year was "Who is Jesus?" and students were able to explore the themes of our Foundational Values — wisdom, aspiration and courage. Devotion time at night was a highlight of the camp, with many students returning to school saying it was their favourite part of the trip.
Each night the 'Camper of the Day' awards were presented. The students who received these accolades should be commended for their efforts! Camper of the day, house games, and house spirit points all contributed to the house points on camp.
The winning house of the Year 7 camp was TYNDALE. Well done to the Year 7 Tyndale students!

We want to express our thanks to King's families for their unwavering support throughout NAPLAN — for ensuring your children were well-prepared, organised with their devices, arrived at school on time and were well-rested for these important exams.
We are so proud of our students for all your hard work and dedication. We wish our students all the best as they continue navigating through their NAPLAN tests for 2023.

Volleyball Queensland Beach Cup
16 March 2023
On Sunday, 12 March and Monday, 13 March, we sent two boys and four girls teams to compete at Volleyball Queensland Beach Cup at Coolangatta Beach. The six teams have been training every Wednesday morning since week two this year, with head coach Mr Glenn Pyne and assisting him Mr Andy Pickering.
This competition was statewide, meaning the competition was tough, but all of our teams placed in the top four of the state. This was the first beach volleyball competition we have sent teams to at King’s Pimpama, and to end up in the top four in Queensland is an exceptional achievement.
Thank you to all the parents, friends and staff who came to support our students on both days of the tournament. A special thank you to Mr Glenn Pyne for his dedication to the program and the students.
We are very proud of all our students who have committed to training and given their best efforts over the two days. The above results are a testament to our students and their commitment to training.
