Year 11 Camp 2022 | Noosa and Alexandra Park

Secondary

The Year 11 camp was split into genders again in 2022. Our boys headed to Alexandra Park and the girls travelled to Noosa. There were a lot of positive comments from the split camp and our students made the most of this opportunity with smaller numbers and new activities to try. The girls' camp was based at the Elanda Eco Camp which is uniquely located in the Cooloola National Park and only a short 25-minute drive from Noosa. The 65-acre site, with 500 meters of beachfront on the Noosa River is a peaceful and relaxing place for students to take a slower approach to the normal busy camp programs. Activities included mountain bike riding, canoeing, archery tag and the amazing race challenge. Night one of devotions included a PJ party and a chance to create words of encouragement. Our boys headed to one of our favourite campsites - Alexandra Park - and were excited heading into camp as they were keen to head out on the tinnies and fish on the Maroochy river. Lots of fish were caught and conditions were perfect. Devotions tested and challenged our students. Mr Muir and his team were able to connect with the boys with less distractions and create an environment where boys could be young men. Sumo suit wrestling was a hit! Afternoons were allocated to House activities where students had a chance to display leadership qualities for positions in 2023. VIP House dinners were a big motivation leading into the second day of activities. Congratulations Newton on taking out the Ruth Van Werkhoven trophy!
